Dr. Lisa M. Roberts is a board certified gynecologist who started her gynecology and laparoscopic surgery practice in Raleigh, NC in 2002 after completing advanced training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

Dr. Roberts received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center.

After residency, Dr. Roberts completed a fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic Endoscopic Surgery under the direction of Harry Reich, MD, a pioneer in the field of laparoscopic surgery. Prior to her fellowship with Dr. Reich, Dr. Roberts completed an Advanced Gynecologic Endoscopic Surgery Fellowship under Joseph S. Sanfilippo at Magee Women's Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Roberts routinely performs a variety of advanced laparoscopic procedures including hysterectomies, removal of large fibroids, removal of large ovarian cysts, pelvic prolapse reconstruction, bladder neck suspensions, and treatment of endometriosis. Her hysteroscopic skills are equally advanced and include removal of large fibroids, endometrial ablations, treatment of uterine abnormalities and polyps.

Dr. Roberts has published chapters in textbooks and articles in peer-review journals. She has served as faculty and lectured at post-graduate courses. She has been actively involved with the AAGL since 1998 where she has served as a member of the Board of Trustees (2003-2005), as committee chair, meeting moderator, and as faculty in AAGL sponsored courses for physicians.
