Tom Lyons, M.D., has practiced gynecological medicine since 1980. During his practice he has developed such minimally invasive surgical procedures as Supracervical Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and the Laparoscopic Burch procedure for urinary stress incontinence. He specializes in endoscopic relief for pain and endometriosis, as well as myomectomy for fibroids.
A graduate of the University of Georgia with an AB in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical and Biopsychology, Dr. Lyons earned his medical degree at the University of Colorado and financed his medical education playing football for the Denver Broncos. He has been a participant in numerous academic and clinical studies and has authored more then 100 scholarly publications.
A Board Certified physician, Dr. Lyons is Medical Director of the Center for Women's Care and Reproductive Surgery in Atlanta, GA and the Southeastern Institute for Endoscopic and Laser Surgery. Dr Lyons has been active in the establishment of credentialing guidelines for the procedures he has developed, and has conducted classes on these procedures in more than 40 cities throughout the world.
